Visitors to the Nov. 20-22 Whitman Baltimore Coin and Currency Convention will be able to take part in a Numismatics and Arts Tour scheduled in conjunction with the show, organizers announced Sept. 29. The tour includes the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Luce Foundation Center for American Art.
Participants will be lead on a behind-the-scenes floor tour at the BEP, then head to the SAAM’s Courtyard Café for lunch and an afternoon exploring the nation’s first collection of American art, including many of Anthony de Francisci’s medal samples and Irish coin model casts by Paul Manship.
The tour is Nov. 21 and costs $32. The bus departs from the Baltimore Convention Center’s Charles Street entrance at 8:30 a.m. The tour is open to adults 18 years and older. Advance registration is required.
