With the price of gold crossing the $2,000-per-ounce mark, collectors were eager to get their hands on the 2023 gold American Eagle proof offerings from the U.S. Mint. You’ll see healthy sales since the coins’ release on March 30. At the time of this writing, all sizes of the coin were sold out on the Mint’s website except for the 1/10-ounce Eagle.

Also released since our report last month were the 2023 American Women quarter proof set and silver proof set. With a release date of March 21, the proof set has racked up 39,464 in sales, while the silver proof set has sold 38,782 since its release on April 4.

Bags and rolls of the American Women quarter honoring Edith Kanaka’ole, the second to be released so far this year, were issued on March 27. The next AWQ set to be released is the coin honoring Eleanor Roosevelt on June 5.

Of note in the bullion category is that sales are posted for the first time this year for the platinum Eagle. It is on the board with 500.

Rounding out issues for the month of April will be the Louisiana American Innovation dollar and the 1-ounce gold American Buffalo.
