Sales of the Denali 5-ounce silver bullion coins began with a 5,500 quantity going on the chart below. Buyers also added 2,300 Hawaii pieces and 2,000 Acadia coins to their orders. The quantities of the other five designs that are still available didn’t move at all.

Bullion investors are watching the 1-ounce gold American Eagle coin. The October monthly sales figure stands at 44,500. Only two other months in 2012 have had higher sales numbers, September with 63,000 and January with 84,500.

Not everything is gold and silver related. The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park S-mint quarter bags and roll sales have pushed overall sales past the 1 million coin mark, at 1,031,540 pieces. That means Acadia is the only design whose total remains under 1 million at 990,460 coins.

Chaco is at 1,149,720. The El Yunque has reached 1,525,740. Denali S-mint quarters go on sale Nov. 5.

The 2012-W proof silver American Eagle is nearing 800,000, having reached 790,348 this week.
