This week we add just one new product to the charts: the silver Presidential medal honoring Franklin Pierce, 14th president of the United States. After one week of availability, 12,742 medals have been sold. This initial total is already beating out current sales totals for the three preceding medals, those for Millard Fillmore, Zachary Taylor and James K. Polk.
The 2022 clad proof set continues to be a strong performer. This week’s total of 359,347 is up 3,842 from last week.
As this is being written on Oct. 12, we notice that, while gold bullion Buffalo totals have been calculated for the beginning of October – 21,500 thus far and 387,500 year-to-date – American Eagle bullion sales have not been updated. Totals for platinum, gold and silver remain unchanged since last week. No October numbers are logged on the Mint’s website.
As far as future new releases go, we won’t see anything until the United States Mint and Mighty Minters holiday ornaments become available on Oct. 21. Those will be followed by the American Women quarter for Anna May Wong on Oct. 25 and the 2022 limited edition silver proof set Oct. 26. After that, there is just one product left on the Mint’s 2022 schedule, the American Innovation $1 reverse proof set on Nov. 14.
