The majority of these coins were traded for or collected during the course of business on the Navajo Reservation in Window Rock, Arizona in the 50's and 60's. Larry and Clara owned and operated several businesses on the reservation during this time period, as well as taught English and math to the Navajo's. We found these coins in a lock box at the local bank, most still wrapped in paper sleeves and in Navajo National Bank bank bags similar to the one shown. Larry and Clara moved back to Arkansas in 1968 and stored the majority of the coins selling in the local bank....they haven't seen daylight for 50 years.
