As a professional philatelist he does appraisal work for individuals, banks, trust accounts, government agencies. His knowledge covers nearly all countries but specialty areas are German stamps and US stamps. As a professional numismatist he has done appraisals for trust departments, banks, government both city, state and federal. He has taught a course on investment coins at the University of Washington and has contributed to articles in major numismatic publications.
