A Signature Auction will be held Jan. 9-13, 2013, to headline activity at the Florida United Numismatists Convention in Orlando.
But organizers have numerous other events in store and promise 1,500 dealers and 15,000 collectors.
While perhaps arranging to bid on an AU-50 1792 half disme graded by the Professional Grading Service’s Secure category of service at the Heritage sale, attendees at the Florida convention will have 16 educational programs to choose from, including one given by F. Michael Fazzari, professional grader and regular contributor to Numismatic News.
His talk is called “Telltale Signs of Altered and Counterfeit Coins.”
Dealer and consumer advocate Scott Travers and investment advisor Maurice Rosen give a talk called, “The Golden Glitter of Gold; but All that Glitters Isn’t Gold.”
Eric Jordan elaborates on his theme, “Buying Tomorrow’s Classic Coinage Today.” His take on finding the right modern issues to buy is one that inspired a book, “Modern Commemorative Coins – Investment Today Profit Tomorrow” and features stories in “Numismatic News.”
Al Johnbrier and Randy Campbell share their silver dollar expertise in their 35th Annual Silver Dollar Investors’ Forum.
January 11 and 12 are also packed with meetings of various coin clubs, ranging from the Liberty Seated Collectors Club to the Society of Paper Money Collectors.
