This very attractive new-to-the-census about uncirculated 1929 $50 from Yankton, S.D., went by in both the 2019 Heritage FUN and 2019 Knight IPMS auctions. The Dakota National Bank issued only $50 and $100 notes during its life beginning with 1902 date backs in 1909. The bank was absorbed by The First National Bank, charter 2068, so its corporate charter was liquidated Sept. 30, 1931. It received 175 sheets of type 1 $50s and 39 sheets of $100s. This beauty, the highest grade note reported from the bank, is the top note from the last sheet of $50s. Undoubtedly, someone at the bank had saved it.
