Harlan J Berk Ltd. Internship/Scholarship Program
For over six decades, Harlan J. Berk, Ltd. has been a cornerstone of Chicago’s numismatic scene. Now, the world-renowned rare coin and antiquities dealer is launching its first-ever internship and scholarship program, offering a unique opportunity for an AP World History student.
Harlan J. Berk, Ltd. (HJB) has been a Chicago institution for 61 years. First founded in Joliet in 1964, HJB has become a world leader in rare ancient, US, and world coins and antiquities. HJB seeks an AP World History student for our inaugural internship & scholarship program.
The ideal candidate should devote a minimum of three days a week during their summer break and then, as time allows, during various school breaks and after school during the next school year. We will work with the candidate to create an adequate schedule so as not to interfere with their academic pursuits. The intern will get hands-on experience in the field of numismatics and antiquities, including, but not limited to, customer service, original research, and writing, as well as authentication and verification of ancient artifacts and coins. Upon completion of the internship, the successful applicant will be given a $2500 cash award for their future University pursuits, to be used as the student sees fit.
