2023 Coin of the Year: Best Contemporary Event

I always say that making it to the COTY 100 is a huge recognition for any coin. You can tell by looking at the ten finalists in each category that a great deal of sifting and filtering has transpired in making it to that point. Considering this, one realizes that each of the ten Best Contemporary Event Coins for this year are commemorating very significant developments for our world. Sometimes it takes the puzzling piece of emotional involvement to push a coin to the forefront for the Nominating Committee and Judges Panel. In the case of the microtext interlocking themed 10 Hryvnia for the 25th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Constitution, one can see and appreciate in the news every day that a countries freedom and sovereignty walks a fine line in our world, making this coin very personal to all of us.
