On July 16, Americans in New York will be treated to Australia's "1 Tonne Australian Kangaroo." It is the "biggest, heaviest, [and] inherently most valuable gold bullion coin on earth." It was created by Australia's international precious metals mint in 2011 to initially showcase the Perth Mint's "Australian Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coin Series." It was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2012 as the largest gold coin in the world.

The coin is made of over 2,200 pounds of 99.99% pure gold, measuring almost 3 ft wide and almost 5 in. thick. Surprisingly, it is issued as legal tender in Australia with a face value of $1 million. Its gold at today's spot prices, however, is worth over $49 million.

Where can the lucky people of New York view this numismatic wonder? The answer is, right outside the New York Stock Exchange on Broad Street. Viewing is between 7am and 7pm ET, so hop on over there if/when you get the chance!
