January saw Numiscollect release the latest coin in Palau’s Biblical Stories series: a 35 mm, half-ounce .999 fine silver $2 proof.

The coin recalls the Exodus, specifically Moses dividing the waters of the Red Sea. Mintage is 1,000.

The reverse design shows a well-bearded Moses flanked by walls of water. He is surrounded by 10 circular vignettes illustrating the various plagues vested on Egypt by The Lord God to secure release of the Israelites: water into blood; frogs; lice: wild animals; diseased livestock; boils; hail and fire; locusts; darkness; death of firstborn sons.

The Decalogue stands above. A blue enameled Star of David is at the very top.
