Earlier this year, the Royal Mint announced four new designs that have been added to its Beatrix Potter collection.

The vivid colors of Beatrix Potter’s original hand painted illustrations are captured on the 2018 silver proof 50p reverses in the blue of Peter Rabbit’s coat, the subtle red of Flopsy Bunny’s jacket and the pastel tones in Mrs Tittlemouse’s dress. (Image courtesy and © The Royal Mint)

As in 2016 and 2017, both BU and colored silver proof 50p coins will be released over the course of 2018. Later on, plain-metal versions will appear in circulation.

All supplement the earlier releases made to mark Beatrix Potter’s 150th anniversary.

The ubiquitous Peter Rabbit is back in a different pose. He is accompanied by Flopsy Bunny, Mrs Tittlemouse and the helpful mouse from “The Tailor of Gloucester.”

The designs are by Emma Noble.
