CIT launched their spring collection, which includes quite the selection in design, themes, sizes, and metals. The World Coin News team was able to sit down with a representative of CIT over a video call to see these new coins “in person” and everyone was impressed with the lineup. Even high-resolution images cannot do these coins justice. The usage of Smartminting® brings out the incredible detailing of the coins, from the folds in fabrics, mountainous terrains, to even the tiny notches that can be seen on the dial of their “Vault” coin. The following are just a few examples offered by CIT.
Continuing their “Numismatic Icons” series with the 4th issue of the series, Arethusa graces this ancient coin inspired series. A captivating nymph and companion to the moon goddess Artemis in Greek mythology.
Arethusa was a nymph in Greek mythology who fled her home after a river god fell in love with her. Wishing to escape his advances, the nymph sought help from Artemis who transformed her into a stream under the sea. The stream lets out as a fountain on the island of Ortygia in Syracuse, Sicily. The Syracusan coins that feature Arethusa are some of the most popular coins from ancient Greece.

The next coin we’ll explore is the “Second Skin.” An artistic representation of the endless possibilities for people when they go on the internet. The internet allows us to visit places we’ve never been, visit places that may not exist, connects us to people from all over the world, and so much more. We can don a “second skin” and become who we want to be. Or perhaps take off the masks we wear every day and become who we truly are. All thanks to the digital age that can fuel our imaginations, for better or worse.
With a mintage of only 2,500, this $5 1oz silver coin will go quickly, so surfing the internet to acquire one of these coins should happen sooner rather than later.
A beloved ongoing series, the Iron Maiden collection continues with the Piece of Mind coin, a tribute to the album of the same name. Even the obverse of this coin got special treatment, made to look like a record with the effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II in the center.
We wish we could go through every coin in this Spring launch, but we’ll have to settle for highlighting just one more.
2022 marked the beginning of CIT’s new “Daydreamer” series. The first coin in the series, “Daydreamer- Future” shows a man pulling away a curtain, revealing the future. Now, the newest release “Daydreamer- Adventure” has a child pulling away the curtain once again, this time revealing a world filled with adventures waiting to be taken. Colossal dinosaurs set in a beautiful landscape under the shadow of a propeller plane gliding through the air. The possibilities are endless in our daydreams and CIT has captured this innate wonder in all of us on a stunning colorized coin.
