On the NumisMaster front, we hit a huge milestone in July, having added 10,000 new coin types in the first half of 2023. That’s a massive number and major accomplishment for the NumisMaster team. Our New Issues Analyst, Jennifer Bushland, has spearheaded this growth effort and can be very proud of what has been achieved.

Over 2,000 new master records, or coin types, have been created since our last installment. These crossed over 30 countries and included a massive boost to our flagging Russian listings, totaling over 600 items. Niue, which was brought fully up to date in March, has had nearly 200 more commemorative coins issued in their name in the ensuing three months. These have also been added to NumisMaster, with more than 150 images to brighten their entrance and make attribution easier.

Macedonia and Romania totaled to over 120 additions in the past month and New Zealand gained nearly 100 new types in addition to over 60 new dates on types that were already in the system. Malta acquired over 50 new coins, plus an addition of nearly 60 new dates to coins already listed. In Luxembourg over 30 new coin master records took their place in the database and 120 new dates on coin types already having master records brought that little country with a long history into 2023 in style.

Austria saw 90 new commemoratives join its ranks, along with 30 more dates on the circulating types. Bermuda gained 35 new coins and lots of other countries got revised in positive ways as well due to a refocusing of our team’s talents.

Both Switzerland and Austria attained pricing revisions for their modern gold and silver coins. Take a deep breath and look at current values for the tiny Albert Einstein 1/4 Franc gold coin of 2020. It’s one of the world’s smallest gold coins, at 2.96 millimeters in diameter with just 0.063 grams of mass, and now carries one of the biggest prices per gram in modern Swiss coinage - $2,500.

Many other countries are in line for these types of updates as 2023 progresses and we redistribute our attentions and assets to give subscribers a better view of the continuing changes to the modern coin market. We recognize that prices are the most fluid element of any online guide, making them also of the utmost value to collectors and dealers. Having accurate modern coin values at your fingertips is more than desirable, it has become essential.
