A chance to win $5,000 is being offered by Kagin’s, Inc., in a contest to choose the auction catalog cover for the official American Numismatic Association National Money Show Sale, which will be held March 9-11, 2017, in Orlando, Fla.
Kagin’s was awarded the auction rights by the ANA board of governors in August.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to have him partner with the ANA in support of our National Money Show in this role,” said Kim Kiick, ANA executive director.
Original compositions are being sought by Kagin’s for the catalog cover.
“Designs can be from any medium – paintings, sketches, photographic, even digital,” said Don Kagin, president of the firm.
The contest is open to everyone.
Kagin said he wants to encourage young artists, professionals and people from inside and outside of the numismatic community.
“We believe numismatics is fun, educational and exciting and want to use this opportunity to demonstrate to the art and auction world how imaginative and cutting-edge numismatics can be.
Deadline for submissions is Dec. 15, 2016. An independent review panel will choose the winning design.
Contestants may send up to three entries electronically to Nina@Kagins.com.
