Medals are struck on the same planchets as American Eagle silver bullion coins. They contain precisely one troy ounce of .999 fine silver bullion.

Up-to-date values in up to 11 condition grades!

Price of the 9/11 medal is $56.95, $3 less than the 2011 proof silver American Eagle that was to go on sale starting June 30.

In August, the Mint will add another $10 to the medal’s price Aug. 18, so interested buyers have roughly one month to get the lower price.

Embedded in the medal’s price is a $10 surcharge that will be given to the National Sept. 11 Memorial & Museum.

To order, visit the Mint’s website at www.usmint.gov, or telephone (800) USA-MINT.
