CSNA to hold 129th show

The 129th Convention and Coin Show sponsored by the California State Numismatic Association will be held Oct. 29-30 at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel and Conference Center in Long Beach, Calif.

The 129th Convention and Coin Show sponsored by the California State Numismatic Association will be held Oct. 29-30 at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel and Conference Center in Long Beach, Calif.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The 52-table bourse will feature U.S., foreign and ancient coin and currency dealers.

There will be a Young Numismatist table on both days and two Merit Badge Clinics for Boy Scouts on Saturday.

There are coin folders and then there is this deluxe State Quarter folder!

At least 20 cases of competitive exhibits are expected to be entered. In addition to the Best-of-Show Award, there will be a new award for first-time exhibitors.

There will be a short CSNA business meeting along with an educational program on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., as well as a club benefit auction. On Sunday afternoon there will be an awards luncheon along with a program presented by Garrett Burke, designer of the California state quarter. A general membership meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The CSNA convention medal, “Fabulous U.S. Route 66,” was designed by Joyce Kuntz.
