Zyrus Press has published “The Official National Park Quarters Book,” by David L. Ganz.

Ganz, who has written regularly for Numismatic News since 1969, takes a behind-the-scene look at the national park quarter, discusses the origins of the new pieces that include a large 3-inch silver, 5-ounce version, and then provides encyclopedic coverage about each issue.

Lists each honored national site featured on America the Beautiful quarter scheduled to be released between 2010 and 2016.

The 275-page paperback is an encyclopedic coverage of the national park quarters program, starting with the background of how the coins were created out of the success of the 50 state quarter coin program. The second half of the book is a catalog that includes photos of all of the winning and losing designs.

Mintage figures, current prices, and much previously unpublished information about each coin’s creation are rounded out with commentary and analysis from former Mint Director Philip Diehl, Donald Scarinci, who serves on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee, and Arthur Friedberg, head of the Coin & Currency Institute.

Ganz is a past president of the American Numismatic Association and is an award-winning writer.
