Legend-Morphy’s Feb. 28 Las Vegas auction featured 334 lots and realized $1.73 million.
The sale was held at the Professional Coin Grading Service Members Only Show at the Venetian/Palazzo Hotel.
Topping the bidding at $92,000 was a half dime dated 1796/5 and graded PCGS MS-64+ with Certified Acceptance Corp. sticker.
Its pedigree includes the Eliasberg collection.
The prices realized total and individual lot prices given include a 15 percent buyer’s fee. Fetching $80,500 was a 1909-D $20 gold piece graded PCGS Secure MS-66 CAC.
Bringing $51,750 was a PCGS Secure AU-55+ 1798 silver dollar, Small Eagle, 15 stars, B-2, BB-81.
“This particular coin came from the personal collection of a major Bust dollar dealer and is extremely rare in ‘choice AU’ or higher,” said Legend-Morphy partner Laura Sperber.
