The 200th anniversary of Henry Clay becoming speaker of the House of Representatives is commemorated by a medal commissioned by the Henry Clay Memorial Foundation in Lexington, Ky.
The obverse portrait of Clay is based on a U.S. Mint medal struck in 1852 in Philadelphia.
Measuring 50mm in diameter, the silver version of the medal contains 2.5 troy ounces and has a brilliant finish, while the bronze version has an antique finish. Both are serially number 1-100 on the edge.
Struck by the Northwest Territorial Mint, the silver version is priced at $249 each and the bronze version is $49.
