Houston Money Show dates change

Dates have changed for the Money Show of the Southwest, Carl Schwenker, show spokesman, said June 19.

Dates have changed for the Money Show of the Southwest, Carl Schwenker, show spokesman, said June 19. The 51st annual event now will occur Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2007, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

Schwenker explained that the dates were changed in order to avoid conflict with major shows in January 2008 that would have kept some regulars from attending.

?We plan to make the first weekend in December as our permanent date and trust that any conflicts with other shows can be worked out,? he said.

A major Heritage auction has already been slated for the new dates, and familiar features like the ?out-of-this-world? barbecue will be served on set-up night to dealers with tables and the Early Birds.

The Professional Grading Service will be present to grade coins on site.

Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs will also be featured.

?Our objective is to create a quality, major numismatic event,? Schwenker said.

?We are calling all dealers who had committed to the January dates as well as dealers who have indicated that they planned to come and advising them of the change,? he said.
