The 1894-S dime is a rare coin. There are nine known and there is the story of the little girl that received a couple of them from her father (who was then a Mint employee) and spent one on an ice cream cone. The Stella is beautiful and worth a lot of money, but I’ll take the story.

With an unlimited budget, why not both? I am sure both are very nice coins, but with an unlimited budget, I would pick an 1804 silver dollar first before I chose either of those two coins.

Neither, I would be practical and buy semi-numismatic bullion gold and same goes for silver. Do not get me wrong I have been a collector since I was 10 years old now 70. Have many collectible silver and gold coins would take me the rest of my life to dispose of them. But the bullion would be very easily sold if need be. Being older now a person thinks about how hard it would be when he wants to sell.
