As the autumn collecting season approaches Lincoln cent collectors have their eye on two upcoming Mint offerings.
On Aug. 26 a four-coin Lincoln Bicentennial One Cent Proof Set will be offered for sale by the U.S. Mint.
Price was not available a press time. Check the U.S. Mint Web site at www.usmint.gov for updates, or telephone (800) USA-MINT on the day it becomes available.
Production will be unlimited, though order limits could be imposed at the beginning to assure the widest possible distribution to collectors.
The set is comprised of one each of the four Lincoln cent designs, Birthplace, Formative Years, Professional Life and Presidency.
Another proof set involving the four Lincoln proof cents will be the Lincoln Coins and Chronicles Set. It is listed on the Mint’s Web site schedule as going on sale this fall without a specific date being mentioned.
The set will be limited to 50,000, because that is the number of proof Lincoln commemorative silver dollars that have been set aside. With the present excitement over all of the Lincoln cent offerings, there is a great likelihood of a low order limit and a quick sellout of this particular set.
Its price also is not available at press time.
