Official Barack Obama inaugural medals are being sold on the Web site of the Official Inaugural Committee.
The pieces feature a portrait of Obama on obverse done by Marc Mellon.
On reverse is the official event logo above “44th President/of the/United States of America/Inaugurated Jan. 20, 2009.”
Bronze examples with a 2.75-inch diameter are $60. The .999 fine silver version of the same size is $400. A three-piece set that includes these two medals and a smaller 1.25-inch gold medal is priced at $3,000. The gold is 14 karat (.583 fine).
