The United States Mint revved up circulating coin production in October. The monthly total of 1,382,180,000 is 41 percent higher than the September monthly figure.

There were increases in the denominations cents through quarters from both the Philadelphia and Denver minting facilities.

No production of half dollars or dollar coins occurred.

Nickels crossed the billion mark for the year and dimes have reached nearly 2 billion.

Quarters stand at nearly 1.6 billion pieces. As is usually the case, cents hold the crown for most numerous at 6.8 billion coins.

Average monthly output in the first 10 months of the year is 1.15 billion coins. The October number is well above that.
