Three longtime members of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists were honored Oct. 14 by fellow members at a dinner held at Le Mont restaurant in conjunction with the American Numismatic Association National Money Show in Pittsburgh.

Honored for lifetime achievement in PAN were Dick Duncan, John Eshbach and Gerald Kochel. Each received from John Maher, member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, a citation folder from the Pennsylvania House outlining their achievements. PAN created a large poster for each honoree that was signed by attendees. Each of the three will also receive a special PAN medal.

Appreciate and embrace the deeper motivations that urge us to seek out that special coin!

ANA Exhibit Chief Judge Joseph E. Boling awarded the Joseph E. Boling Excellence in Judging Award to Sam Deep.
Also during the evening, sculptor Jamie Franki, who designed the PAN-ANA medal depicting Andrew Carnegie and Andrew Mellon for the show, contributed many items of his artwork, which was auctioned off to benefit PAN.
Auctioned items included a lot of three original drawings and some 27 prints, finished medals of the PAN-ANA design in both sizes, serial No. 1; and lead splashes of the same.

More than $1,000 was raised. The auctioneer was honoree Kochel.

The highlight throughout the evening was the view from the hilltop restaurant of the dusk-to-night transformation of the Pittsburgh skyline.
