With the Oct. 24 release of the 2019 American Innovation dollar honoring Pennsylvania, we’ve added a new chart to the Bag and Roll section.
The Pennsylvania coin is the second of four to be released this year. All come with a circulated finish. This latest coin in the series features the polio vaccine developed by Dr. Jonas Salk and his team at the University of Pittsburgh in the early 1950s.
After four days of Mint sales, rolls came in at 8,277 for both Philadelphia and Denver mints, and bags hit 3,586. Innovation dollars for New Jersey and Georgia will round out the year. We will be keeping tabs.
Among the standouts this week was the 2019 uncirculated coin set that rose by 4,780 for a total of 278,890.
The silver proof sets continue to lead the pack with the 2019 10-coin clad proof set making a more than 10,000-unit jump to 459,915 for a 2.4% increase over last week. The silver proof set had a strong showing of 328,789, a climb of more than 5,000 in a week.
Other top performers were the American Innovation dollar “S” proof set with a jump from 49,960 to 52,403 and the 2019 Limited Edition silver proof set with an even larger increase from 29,691 to 32,893.
