After a two-year absence in 2009 and 2010, the uncirculated collector version of the silver American Eagle will return to the Mint’s lineup Sept. 29. The coin is neither the regular bullion coin version struck at West Point without a mintmark, nor a proof version struck with a “W” mintmark.

It is an uncirculated coin sold by the Mint directly to collectors and not through its Authorized Purchaser bullion coin dealer network.

This easy-to-search pricing and identification download is solely focused on U.S bullion coins.

It will have a “W” mintmark. Previous issues in 2006, 2007 and 2008 also had a burnished surface. It is expected the 2011-W uncirculated will also have a burnished surface.

Price was not available at press time. Check the Mint’s website at www.usmint.gov.
