Hello, readers!
March is Women’s History Month. To celebrate, on the Numismatic News website, you will find a tribute to Bessie Coleman, who in 1922 was the first Black woman to pilot a public flight. Her talent, determination and dedication to equality made her a hero to women and the Black community as she walked the trail blazed by Blanche Stuart Scott, who was the first American woman to fly a plane. Read the article here!
To keep the celebration going, we at Numismatic News are turning the spotlight on women in numismatics who have blazed their own trails or who are active in the hobby – and we want to hear from you! Send us your nomination that includes the woman’s name, brief explanation of why she should be selected and the nominee’s contact information.
With the goal of a question-and-answer session published on a monthly basis, we would like to feature women from all walks of life: collectors, business women, dealers, dealers’ wives/daughters, club officers, researchers ... women from all levels and sectors of numismatics.
Submit your nomination – or nominate yourself – by emailing me at mpahl@aimmedia.com. I can’t wait to hear from you.
Happy collecting!
