2023 Coin of the Year: Best Gold

This year the Coin of the Year awards is being held virtually again, except this time with a little twist. COTY co-coordinator Tom Michael presents the line-up for this year's awards honoring 2021-dated coins. 

Rising to the top of the Best Gold Coin category this year, with a 36 percent margin over its closest competitor, is the 100 Dollar gold American Liberty coin from the U.S. Mint. The highly detailed eagles head and violently bucking mustang spoke to the coins theme of American determination and a passion for liberty. The sharply defined details of this design lend realism to this gold piece that is rarely seen but always appreciated.
