2023 Coin of the Year: Most Artistic

The simplest design is often the most beautiful. The ability to project an emotion from a coin design is where the true artistry exists. This 5 Hryvnias coin commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence is, at a glance, very simple. The designer’s elemental choices, however, are steeped in national pride and the essence of freedom. This is my favorite coin of the 2021 dated field and its win for Most Artistic Coin is well deserved. For those looking to add this piece to their COTY collection you should know that it was issued in a lovely informational card which was primarily distributed in Ukraine and can be found for sale by Ukrainian dealers through internet sales sites.
