A highlight will be an issue from the short-lived Republic of South Peru. The firm offers a spectacular Mint State “Sunface” 8 escudos gold coin as lot 41278.

This rare piece features an iconic design appealing to a multitude of collectors, the firm noted.

A trio of “Baby Ivan” rubles are spotlighted in the Russian section. The auction firm said that there is incredible demand for this type.

Other important Russian pieces include a very rare 1840 novodel 3 kopek without mintmark (lot 41343). It displays lovely violet and reddish hues.

There are six lots (41359-41364) of Russian Orders and Decorations from the Colonel Oleg Pantuhoff Collection.

Two dozen lots from the Philippines offer patterns, countermarks and other esoteric material sure to excite specialists. Among these the standout lot is 41302,, an 1894 copper centavo pattern that traces its pedigree to the Ray Czahor Collection and the Greg Pineda Collection.

A gold aureus of Julius Caesar (lot 41046) features terrific strike details, the firm said.

More gold follows with others of that denomination from the Emperor Antoninus Pius and Lucius Verus.
