How have the economic and travel impacts of the coronavirus affected your current collecting approach?

I will miss connecting with my fellow collectors. In the age of cocooning, the bourse is dynamic. Nothing compares with a smile, a friendly spar, and the joy of the story. Tell me how my five senses are stimulated looking at a computer and I will say to you, you’re lifeless.

Coronavirus has caused me to lose $60,000 in the stock market on paper. I'm not buying anything at the moment, not until the situation calms down. I usually buy gold double eagles for a very very wealthy friend but I've stopped doing that until the market stabilizes.

I find that I won’t be attending coin collecting presentations. I am doing more online shopping for coins. I would rather attend coin collecting shows, but based on the circumstances, alternative methods have to be adopted.

Other than coin shows shutting down, little impact for me. I have so much backlog it is a good opportunity to process it rather than focus on new acquisitions.

I find that at this point I will most likely not be going to coin collection presentations. What I’m doing for now is online shopping. It’s not the way I like to collect and buy coins, but it’s the best for now with the present circumstances.
Up until now, it hasn't.
However, I was planning to purchase a 2020 proof silver eagle as a gift for my employer. But I received an email this morning indicating the Mint has run out of the coin. I hope it is temporary.
