Has the U.S. Mint been too quick to reopen its facilities? Why or why not?
Here are some answers sent in from our E-Newsletter readers.
If the Mint is properly cleaning the areas that need to be done in a timely manner, I do not see a problem.
The company I work for has a team that goes around disinfecting everything from door handles to cabinets.
Let’s all be smart on this opening of the economy.
Good luck to all.

It all boils down to safety. Like any other business trying to reopen, it only makes good sense to be careful and smart as to how people are put in proximity to one another. No one should be forced or blackmailed into returning to their jobs if the environment is not safe to do so.
As with all the battles we as Americans have faced, there is no doubt we will get through this, and perhaps we all will have learned what we are capable of as a country when we pull together.

No. If social distancing along with worker safety is maintained, then an employer is allowing its employees to earn a wage.

No, I don’t think so. With discretion, they should be safe. Follow the advice of the doctors and the health pros, and all should be fine. Ship out all inventory until it’s gone. I don’t know why there is the disparity between gold and silver prices; cannot explain why there is such a yo-yo effect. Too many big-game players, again, methinks!

They need to let the dust settle and slow down production. Too many coins. I vote slow it down. It helps makes for low-mintage coins. They will have more value and they will be more rare to own.

Yes! I believe any company opening now is wrong. Remember, we were all open when this terrible virus began. I feel greed is going to drive more loss of life. What is another 30 days? I want to return to work and normality, whatever that may be, yet I still want to say hello to my neighbor and family when I wake up.
